WORSHIPPING WITH
CHILDREN |
|
A
certain amount of kid noise in worship is a delightful affirmation that we
are alive and inclusive!
Helpful hints in acclimatizing children to worship:
-
Arrive in
time to find a good place to sit. Children may enjoy sitting with
another family.
-
Offer
children a special activity packet located in the baskets near the
side and rear doors. Bring
quiet activity supplements from home.
-
Help
children follow along in the service.
When children ask questions, answer them briefly.
This communicates that you care about their faith journey.
-
You are a
role model. Be mindful of
your body language and attitudes.
-
After
worship and church school, talk to your children about their
experiences. This can be
a wonderful way to establish a habit of sharing dimensions of our
spiritual selves. We each learn and grow from the questions and insights of
others.
