Board for Christian Education Chair, Jan Forbes

The Board for Christian Education develops and implements the church's educational programs for children, youth and young adults. Specific programs include Sunday morning church school for infants through 12th grade; skills training for teachers; worship and mission experiences; faith development opportunities for teachers, parents and families; comprehensive programs for junior highs; senior highs and young adults; summer camp and retreats at CCC's West Virginia retreat house.

Board for Church Life Chair, Marian Dirda

The Board for Church Life coordinates and initiates church events and activities that enhance our opportunities to know and enjoy one another. The Board plans several special events each year such as church-wide picnics, a family Halloween party, the Advent Wreath workshop, Christmas caroling and the Beach and Winter weekends. The Board continues to look for new ways to bring CCC members together for fun and friendship and welcomes your involvement as a member of the Board, or as a volunteer on Board projects.

Board of Deacons Chair, David Main

The Deacons seek to enhance the spiritual life of the congregation. The Board works closely with the ministers planning and assisting in worship services, including serving communion. Deacons assist with the pastoral care of members, especially those who are sick or in crisis. The Board oversees the Covenant Class for young people, adult education, and other programs for spiritual growth. The Board administers the Deacons' Fund for those in need. The Board considers that the worship experience and ministry to members of the church are particularly important. Training will be provided!

Board of Outreach and Engagement Chair, David Fouse

O & E welcomes newcomers to our church. To encourage visitors to come, O & E advertises and promotes CCC's ministry, program and events, and assist in updating the church's web site. The members work with the ushers to identify visitors and greet them. When visitors fill out the pew registry, Board members follow up with phone calls. Periodically the Board schedules conversation meetings to orient regular visitors on the life of our church and invite them to consider joining CCC. The Board works on various printed materials, such as the pew rack brochure about CCC, the guidelines for sponsors of new members and the Opportunities Booklet.

  Board for Social Witness
Co-Chairs, Leslie Wilson & Anne Weissenborn

The Board of Social Witness carries out Christ's charge to be Good Samaritans by allocating the CCC mission funds to local, national and international causes and programs. In addition, the Board coordinates three annual all-church special offerings and seeks to engage church volunteers to participate in mission-related activities-- a soup kitchen, a nearby after-school program for troubled students and emergency disaster relief. The Board also explores action CCC can take regarding economic, social and political issues. In recent years, these initiatives have included environmental protection, housing for low-income residents and social justice for people of different races, gender and sexual orientation.

Board of Stewardship Co-Chairs, Alison Perterson & Gregg Brown

The Board of Stewardship encourages all church members to give generously of their time, talent and financial resources to support the life and mission of the Church. An annual stewardship campaign reflects the spiritual and Biblical basis of stewardship and the joy to be found in active participation in this vibrant community.

Board of Trustees Chair, Tim White

The Trustees oversee the financial resources of the church, including hiring and compensating staff, maintaining the church's properties, managing its investments and financial resources and implementing its programs. A key task involves developing the annual budget with input from staff, other boards and the congregation. The nature of the work requires liaison with other boards and committees. The Chair acts in the capacity of President of the Corporation, including representing the church in legal proceedings.
