My Phuong Nguyen

Born in Vietnam, My Phuong Nguyen became interested in the art and science of photography when she bought her first camera in 2002 and discovered the joy of taking pictures. She studied photography at Montgomery College and at seminars taught by expert photographers such as Tony Sweet and Rick Sammon.

Her pictures have been published in Vien Du 2005, a collection of images also exhibited at Nhat Bao Vietnam newspaper of Southern California. The Photographic Society of America (PSA) displayed her photographs at the Baltimore (2006) and Tucson (2007) International Conferences (www.psa-photo.org).

My Phuong’s photographs have been displayed around the world in various International Exhibitions, where she has received numerous awards, including:

    • Four Gold Medals, Three Silver Delaware Medals at Spring Fling in April, 2008.
    • Best of show, Gold Medal in best creative of 44th Fresno International Exhibition, 2008
    • Best  of show, Gold Medal in Photojournalism at Georgia Southern Exhibition Circuit, 2008
    • AZPS Medal at Arizona International Exhibition in Photojournalism, 2008
    • Best of Show, Gold Medal, Minneapolis St. Paul International Exhibition, 2007
    • Best of Show, Golden West International Exhibition, 2007
    • Silver Medal, Oklahoma International Exhibition, 2007
    • Three Gold, One Silver, One Bronze Delaware Medals at interclub competition which called Spring Fling in April, 2007

She loves to travel and enjoys taking picture of nature and wild life. She is a member of several camera clubs and membership chairman of the Silver Spring Camera Club. She held the position of Star Rating Director in PSA for the term of 2007. MyPhuong is a much sought after international judge.
