Art SHOW for March 2000
Cub Scout Pack 275
|
| Christ Congregational
Church has been the home of Cub Scout Pack 275 since the
late 1940s, more than 50 years. Today the Pack includes
nearly 30 boys, grades 1 through 5, and their families.
Most of the Cubs live in the neighborhoods surrounding
the church. The art displayed was created and mounted by the boys of the Pack to reflect Cub Scouts' basic goals of encouraging respect for nature, good citizenship, and self-esteem. In addition, Cub Scout activities encourage spiritual growth, introduce the boys to new activities and interests, and strengthen their ability to get along with and respect others. |
The boys of
Pack 275 not only work on scouting achievements that help
them to progress through the ranks of Cub Scouts, but
they also collect food for area food banks at
Thanksgiving, host a pot-luck dinner for their families
and friends in February, build and race wooden cars in
March, go camping with their families in June, and launch
model rockets that they have built themselves in August. For more information about Pack 275, call Cubmaster Kelly Kilmer at (301) 589-4312 or Pack Committee Chair Beth Martin at (301) 587-8404. |
