The works of CCC members or spouses of CCC members appear in the Tate Gallery during January and February 2008.

Elsa and Carl Brandt have shared the hobby of photography since they first met in a camera club in New York City back in 1963. Many of their photos have appeared in previous exhibits here at church, on the church web site, and at the Silver Spring Camera Club. Elsa and Carl's contributions in the present exhibit are computer-generated ink jet prints made from digital photographic originals and scanned color slides.

Wayne and Susan Gray enjoy taking photographs while on vacations or snapping photos at the spur of the moment when a shot is just perfect and can't be missed. They are experimenting and learning the exciting techniques available for digital photography.

John Hildebrandt has been interested in watercolor painting for many years. He has studied locally with Geri Smith, Phil Metzger and Yolanda Frederickse. John is a member of and has exhibited at both the Rockville Art League and the Wakefield NH Plein Air Arts Group.

Audrey Platt has been working in counted cross-stitch for approximately twenty years (off and on). She is self-taught and tends to favor natural subjects and pieces as anniversary or birthday gifts.

Neville Platt has always maintained a family record of photographs (generally put together by Audrey) and likes subjects from nature, especially sunsets.  His interest has reached a new high with the versatility of digital photography.   He usually uses an Olympus camera.

Selma Robey, a Silver Spring resident, is a watercolor artist who paints mainly abstracts, landscapes, and still lifes, has exhibited in galleries and shows in the area and has won prizes for her work. She studied Art at Montgomery College, attended workshops, and presently is studying with Frances Call at the Leisure World Art Studio. She has been a member of the Olney Art Association since 1994 and is a member of the Rossmoor Art Guild. Many of her watercolors have been featured on the covers of the Consultant Pharmacist Journal, and are also in private collections. In addition, she has carved stone and wood sculptures and has created prize-winning needlepoint.

Johnnie Shannon Watkins has always been interested in painting (even painting by numbers in the 1960's).  She began taking classes in 1993 at Montgomery College under Wilfred Brunner.  Both "Afrique" and "Hawaii" have been displayed at the AFI Theatre, and a 48" x 60" version of "Celebration" is permanently displayed in the Resource Center at the Tacoma campus of Montgomery College.
