John Hildebrandt

John has been painting since the 1960s. His preferred medium is watercolor and he has taken numerous courses offered by Montgomery County Adult Education. John has studied with various painters, including Phil Metzger, Skip Lawrence, Gerry Smith and Yolanda Frederikse. During the summer months, he paints with a "plein air" group in New Hampshire. He is a member of the Rockville Art League and the Wakefield Arts Council.

Drawing or painting was an occasional hobby as a youth and has resurfaced in my retirement travels.

Following graduation in 1949 from Alabama's Auburn University with a degree in Building Construction, School of Architecture, my career involved overseeing planning, designing, building or managing major construction programs. As a consequence some of the prerequisites for success in that field influence my work.
