Celia
Escudero-Espadas was born in Seville, Spain.
As
a photographer committed to social issues, she has published
photos and articles about AIDS, minorities in the U.S.,
and Indigenous peoples In the New York Times, Washington Post, Nueva Imagen, and numerous other publications.
As an activist, her photos are an attempt
to foster social justice and
develop understanding between different cultures by eliciting viewer solidarity with her subjects.
She
freelances for newspapers and theaters, collaborates with human
rights and progressive organizations and gives slide presentations and lectures at universities and high schools on
human rights issues. |
