Construction Continues -- Pics from Monday, 7/2/01

Looking at the excavation which will be our new entrance way.

Looking toward Indian Springs. Note the bucket in the gravel at the lower part of the picture.

This is a newly discovered spring -- which gives our city it's name - Silver Spring.

This is what used to be our Living Room -- now a pile of discarded trash.

Pictures from Thursday, July 5, 2001

But hold on! A visit by the building committee noted a striking pattern in the cinderblock that was revealed when the old paneling was removed. It seems that this design was chosen by Pastor John McClelland and

will now be preserved in the newly renovated Living Room. ( The glue marks will be gone.) It should be pointed out that the walls originally were visible; the paneling was added at some later time.

This is what's left of the stairway from the Indian Spring entrance downstairs. Note the stairs outline on right.

This will be John Touchton's office and the choir room.

Upstairs classrooms -- with all the partitions taken out. These will look radically different when the walls are painted and carpet installed.
Note Tom taking a picture just to the right of Cory. This is the newly evacuated courtyard seen from there.

And just below, it is seen from ground level.

Back in "9601", we drink a toast to the dramatic beginnings of our construction/destruction.

And we have a few decisions to make. At the center are Jonathan and Steve, our genius architects.

Larry, the Caswells, and Judy. Larry's contribution to this project has been enormous.

We finish our meeting with a discussion of some tree placements and floor and wall coverings.
