Finally, after many, many months of patient waiting, we have our GRAND OPENING of our newly renovated building on May 19, 2002.

It was a beautiful, sunny day with brilliant blue sky to match our old steeple and our newly constructed entrance.

Early arrivals moving to the parking lot for the opening.
The choir was first instructed to collect at the dumpster.
Eric, Jim and Linda starting the service . . .
As everyone filed in, the banners were hung one by one . . .
Steve Zieger, our architect, was given a hearty applause. Note the freshly finished hard wood floor in the chancel.
The youngsters are using the conference room for their class.
And there is Steve again, enjoying his handiwork.
The brand spanking new kitchen is really lovely.
Ann, the choir librarian, has something important to describe,
Eric Fischer and Jim heading for the lot as well.
But were moved later to the church entrance.
. . . while Elsa Brandt peered out the window with her camera.
. . . and then Jim opened the service with outstretched arms.
The choir will eventually be sitting on wooden chairs especially bought for this purpose.
After the service, we all collected in the social hall for snacks.
A good view of the handicap ramp in the social hall.
And this is our expanded choir room.
John's office is really spacious.
Ben is describing what the maximum height should be for the music racks, I think.
Above is the corridor leading into the conference room.

Left is the same corridor one floor below leading into the outside.

The service was spectacular and it was refreshing to worship again in the MORNING. Services will continue at 10 AM throughout the summer.
