The Open and Affirming (ONA) Committee at Christ Congregational Church is dedicated to fostering and creating a warm, welcoming Spiritual home for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans-gendered persons.

It is our mission to

• Welcome LGBT persons into our church;
   
• Bring LGBT issues of concern and celebration before the congregation, and provide respectful and ongoing dialogue of these issues through conversational “living room” meetings, educational forums, the church website, and announcements in the weekly bulletin and bi-monthly newsletter;
   
• Encourage participation of the congregants in LGBT events;
   
• Advocate on behalf of LGBT members;
   
• Reach out to LGBT youth and young adults and intentionally provide a safe place for them to turn.
