CCC Directory Update

A new CCC Directory will be published soon. We'll try to include work numbers, as well as e-mail addresses with member entries. If you can receive calls at work and would like to have your work number listed, please fill out the form below and place it in the Church Office folder in the Information Box at Marvin, or mail it to the church office, or call the office by Nov. 5. Upcoming Events At CCC

On Tues., Nov. 6, CCC has chartered a bus to the 22nd Interfaith Concert at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, sponsored by the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington. The 7:30 p.m. concert will feature song, dance and chant by groups from the Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu/Jain, Sikh, Mormon and Bahai faith communities. Diane Rehm, host of "The Diane Rehm Show" will narrate. The bus will leave the MMUMC parking lot at 6:30 p.m. The cost for bus transportation and concert ticket is $25. Reserve seating now by sending a check for $25 to CCC, designating "Interfaith Concert." All CCC'ers invited.

A day trip to Savage Mill has been scheduled for Tues., Dec. 4. Mark your calendars now for traveling to this historic textile mill on the Little Patuxent River that features shops, antiques, craft studios and eateries. There will be lots of time of time for strolling and shopping, and we will lunch together at the Ram's Head Tavern. A car pool will leave MMUMC parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and return by about 3:30 p.m. Cost will be lunch.

I would like to start a third life review group for reflecting on and sharing our life stories in small group sessions that will start early in the new year. If you are interested in joining, please let me know.

Rev. Dale Ostrander

Advent Wreath Workshop

The Advent Wreath workshop will take place on Dec. 2 in the Fellowship Hall following the worship service. A soup and bread supper will be provided by the Board for Church Life, and we ask that everyone bring Christmas cookies to share. All supplies and directions for the wreath-making will be provided. Participants are asked to bring greens and holly from your gardens; clippers and gloves are recommended. Sign-up sheet will be posted.

Leslie Wilson, Board for Church Life

Midwinter's Dinner Music

On Sat., Dec. 8, the combined choirs of CCC and MMUMC will present two seatings of a Christmas Carol Fest: music combined with dinner. The occasion will be festive, and choir members are donating their time and voices.

We hope you will plan to attend. We also are looking for donations of seasonal desserts. If you think you can prepare something to share as part of a dessert cart, please let Bob Brown know. Tell him via e-mail (orbjr@erols.com) or voice mail (301) 770-6214, or a written note. We look forward to seeing you there (and tasting your great recipe results!)

Care to Share Near Death Experience?

I'm taking a course at Montgomery College called "Concepts of the Soul." One of the requirements is to interview someone who has had a Near Death Experience. If there is anyone in our church family who would be willing to share the experience with me, I would appreciate a phone call (301) 279-2571 to set up an appointment.
