In June, 2006, at the CCC Annual Meeting, a CCC Anti-racism Covenant was accepted and affirmed. In the spirit of the Just Peace and the Open and Affirming policies of CCC, the Executive Council endorsed a "CCC Anti-racism initiative" in February 2004. A Guidance Committee of anyone specifically interested in this initiative has been shaping the "activities of this CCC Anti-Racism Journey." For background information about the UCC General Synod Action on Anti-Racism click on the following link http://www.ucc.org/men/multi.htmAt the Annual Meeting of the Central Atlantic Conference of the United Church of Christ in 2004 a CAC Anti-Racism Resolution was passed. In the Fall of 2004, an "Anti-Racism Audit" of all aspects of the life of CCC was conducted. This has led to the development of a "vision for CCC"  in 2008. In addition to the audit a variety of educational events have been held. In February, 2005, there was a "Power Equity Workshop." Click for pictures and commentary about the event.  A six-week Study Circle was completed in December, 2005, with action steps addressing race and ethnicity in Silver Spring.  This Anti-Racism Journey has been coordinated by Delilah Marrow and Jim Henkelman-Bahn. If you have any questions or suggestions for the journey, please contact them.
